Pay attention to:
- wounds that do not heal
- new moles or changes in existing ones
- darkened, reddened, or thickened areas of skin
- yellowing of the skin or eyes
These changes are often mistaken for allergies, sunburn, or stress — but persistent skin changes should never be ignored.
3. Unusual bleeding or discharge
Many women accept abnormal bleeding as something “normal,” especially during stress or hormonal changes.
Alarm signals:
- bleeding between periods
- postmenopausal bleeding
- bleeding after intimate contact
- unusual discharge with a strong odor or unusual color
These symptoms may be related to cervical, uterine, or ovarian cancer and should always be evaluated by a medical professional.
4. Sudden, unexplained changes in weight or body
Weight fluctuations are normal — but rapid and unexplained changes should not be underestimated.
Watch for:
- unintentional weight loss
- persistent swollen abdomen or bloating
- clothes that suddenly start to fit differently without a change in lifestyle
These signs are often explained by digestive problems or stress, but can sometimes signal internal cancers.
When to take action
There’s no need to panic—but there is a need to listen to your body.
See a doctor if:
- visible change lasts more than 2–3 weeks
- symptoms worsen over time
- something feels “wrong” to you, even without pain
Early detection not only increases the chances of survival — it often means easier treatment and better outcomes.
