Step 1: Preparing the Ground Beef
Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
Sauté the onion until softened.
Add the ground beef and brown it, breaking it up with a spatula.
Add the paprika, garlic, salt, pepper, oregano, and cumin.
Add the tomato sauce and mix well. Simmer for 5 minutes, then remove from heat.
Step 2: Make the Cheese Sauce
In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
Gradually add the milk, stirring constantly until smooth.
Stir in the garlic powder, pepper, and dried basil.
Cook until the sauce thickens, then add the grated cheese. Stir until completely melted.
Step 3: Assemble the gratin
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
Butter a baking dish and spread the ground beef evenly in it. Arrange the potato slices on top of the ground beef and season with salt and pepper.
Place the cheese slices on top and pour the cheese sauce evenly.
Sprinkle with grated cheese for an irresistible gratin.
Step 4: Bake.
Bake the gratin for 25 to 30 minutes, until the cheese is golden brown and bubbly.
Remove from oven and let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
Step 5: Serve and enjoy.
Sprinkle with fresh parsley.
