Size doesn’t always mean quality

 

It turns out that larger eggs are usually laid by older hens . Younger hens lay smaller eggs, but often better quality eggs.

 

Here’s what she shared:

 

Thinner shell. In older laying hens, the shell becomes more fragile. This increases the risk of the egg cracking during transport and storage and creates conditions for bacteria to enter.
