In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with the powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.

 

Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the chilled crust, using a spatula to smooth it out.

 

Arrange a single layer of sliced bananas over the cream cheese layer, followed by a layer of crushed pineapple. Be sure the pineapple is well-drained to prevent sogginess.

 

Spread the whipped topping evenly over the fruit layers.

 

Top with chopped strawberries and nuts if using. Drizzle chocolate syrup over the top, then add maraschino cherries for decoration.

 

Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.

 

Slice and serve chilled. Store any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
