‍ Instructions:

 

1. Whip the cream

 

Pour the heavy cream into a stand mixer or a large bowl.

 

Beat it on medium-high speed for about 8–10 minutes.

 

First, it will turn into whipped cream, then start to separate into butter solids and buttermilk.

 

 

 

2. Separate

 

When you see yellow butter lumps forming and a liquid (buttermilk) separating, stop beating.

 

Pour the mixture through a fine sieve or cheesecloth.

 

Save the buttermilk! You can use it for pancakes, baking, or smoothies.
